Consultation and masterplan development

2017

Wirral Borough Council engaged local business and residents during two consultations in 2017 and 2019, to inform of the masterplan and gather feedback to enable an outline planning application to be made. Outline planning permission was granted in September 2020.

Preferred developer appointment

August 2021

March 2022

A competitive tender process was held to appoint a preferred developer(s), who would become a key partner in regenerating New Ferry. The Regenda Group was appointed in March 2022.

Design workshops

The Project Team have been developing the New Ferry masterplans further, ready to share with local businesses and residents at the community event.

Community Events will be held at Windsor Close Community Centre between 2:30pm - 6pm on 22nd and 23rd September. You will have the opportunity to view the masterplans, share your opinions and speak with representatives from the Project Team.

Final design - Sites B & C

The Project Team will finalise the design of Sites B and C and will submit full a planning application in Autumn 2022.

Further design work will continue for Site A before plans are submitted for full planning in around February 2023.

Highways and Public Realm work to commence

Improvements to the highway and public realm on Bebington Road are due to begin.

Residential scheme to start on site

We anticipate that development works for Sites B and C will commence in summer 2023 (subject to planning approval). This will be followed by Site A.
